Fresh from Japan I. Yes. No met fame at a very young age in his home town of Santo Domingo, as a producer/vocalist for Dominican trip-hop band Masrhon. Though as time went on he has put away his past and followed the calling of creating his own music and making it came to life.
Establishing himself in Japan in January 2009, and armed with a new Mac, a beat machine, a 50-dollar Mic, and a 500 Yen guitar, he decided that it was time to start a new project under a different name. With that came drive with a thought provoking message.. His focus is mostly on simple concepts like human Love and hate; the will to power, which is ferociously exercised each day more on fellow humans; and unpretentious cries of spiritual evolution. I. Yes. No. wanting to get his message heard he draws influence ranging from De la Soul to New Order to Erick Satie’s minimalistic piano. With a foundation set I .Yes. No. 's music style is a curious mix of Alternative, Hip Hop and Pop, with a certain ‘don't-know-what’ that binds them together which is scene in his first single.
Make Love; I. Yes No's first single is full of descriptive lyrics, passion, funky beats and is ready to hit the clubs this summer along with the remix version. The first single is already in radio rotation locally in Mie Prefecture, Japan, as well as digitally in many online radio stations. Summer 2010 he will give his fans more. i.yes.no will be releasing his first album called “Murasaki” meaning Violet in English. Just as Violet has many shades so will this album with collaborations from French vocalist Cyrille Daudel (Winner of the first prize of the Montreux Jazz Vocal Competition, 2007). Along with Spanish ambient Producer DavioR, Producer/Engineer Arturo Pina and Masrhon’s former band mates J1 and Angie Sun. The album’s passionate and unique lyrics will be in English, mainly, though some will be in Japanese. No matter the language you will fall in love with his music. |
