Vancouver based singer/songwriter SCOTTROCKER has gone solo from his alternative rock band Auto Switch, to focus on his own writing which has always been his passion. This frontman has a history in the music scene and talent to match.
Scott started his journey many years ago as a drummer and went to the recording arts school Trebas in Vancouver for engineering and producing. After seeing the little talent that was being recorded at school Scott returned home to start his own band with Hanna, AB schoolmate Chad Kroeger. "Although Chad was just playing guitar then it was obvious how huge a talent he was." said Scott. The guys waited for Ryan Peake to finish college so they all could hit the road. Scott Rocker eventually left the band to follow his own calling. As most talented musicians the cover band eventually turned into an original band and called themselves Nickelback. Chad stepped up as the new frontman. "Scott taught me everything I know... about fronting a rock and roll band" - Chad Kroeger - Though not with Nickelback today Scott is one of their top fans and is most proud of the band.
So with a shadow like Nickelback hanging over you... you'd better sound pretty good. SCOTTROCKER is Set To Explode and so is his debut single. "This is the first time I've really written a slow one. In life sometimes we go to these places and I felt it was the right time to let it out. And this summer needs a power ballad!" Rocker is now focusing on songwriting and collaborations which has opened up a whole new audience for him. This is a top notch summer ballad, even acoustically SCOTTROCKER shows the true talent he is. His lyrics are pure, meaningful, full of fire and from his soul.
